“I don’t know what RecycleMania is, but it sounds cool,”
I love that quote, haha. Yeah, I didn't know it was going on either, but now I know! Too bad I live off campus, my roommate and I manage to fill up an entire recycling bin of cans and cardboard on a weekly basis. I liked your suggestions of how they could make people more aware of it, they should make it a bigger deal.

Oh my god Gina, this was hilarious. You should seriously be writing for a professional, snark-friendly publication like...I can't think of one right now. You should write for Stephen Colbert actually, I bet you could write a mean The Word segment. (btw, I have the opposite of your condition - I spent my first 2 days of freedom playing Pottermore and trying to hack back into my Neopets account)

This is really encouraging- I am totally similar in that if I see results I will stick with it, but I tend to get impatient. I did P90X a few times and I had the same mentality right before- fear, haha. I actually laughed out loud when I read your line about escaping, because I can totally relate to that mentality about working out. I admire you for sticking with it though! I bet if you do it enough you will start to miss it and like crave to do it if you don't- that happened to me when I used to run a lot in high school. It go to the point where if felt antsy if I didn't work out. Maybe I'lll go for a run now. :)

Kavi, I had no idea you rode a motorcycle! That is so crazy. I've listened to my dad talk about some of the motorcycle injuries he's taken care of (he's a doctor) and I'm definitely scared of them from that. However, this piece is interesting, because I had never thought that riding something like a motorcycle makes you more aware of your surroundings. While motorcycle injuries are likely more fatal, I'd be interested to see what percentage of motorcyclist crash compared car drivers. I'm curious to see if the motorcyclist percentage is lower because they are in fact more aware of their surroundings. Also, I read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. It's definitely an interesting book that gets you thinking.

I agree with Kaitlyn. As I was reading your story, I was definitely thinking about how Mexico and some countries in Latin America and South America have siesta. I am totally down for that personally, lets give Obama a call now. On a more serious note, I think this was a really fun piece to read and was entertained with your witty writing. I really enjoyed the first paragraph when you alluded to the zombie thing, that was funny. I also enjoyed reading your perspective about nap time as a child. I think majority of us can concur we took that for granted.

I really liked this story Abbie! I really don't know how you do it, I admire you for how much work you put into it though. It is interesting hearing how you got involved in the sport. I feel like most athletes start their sport when they are like five, but its nice hearing you are still successful and not in that boat. I remember the 7th grade phase of everyone trying to find their sport too. Who would have thought what a difference it would have made, right. Good luck this coming year!

I've always wondered what it would be like to be the son, or in this case grandson or great-grandson, of someone ridiculously famous. Regardless for the reason of the person's fame, I think it would be tough to step out of the shadow of that person. It's like you would be famous by default, for doing nothing. Some may view that as a blessing, but I bet most people like that think it's a curse.
